Holiday Parade
BOONE HOLIDAY PARADE
Saturday, December 13 at 6:00 p.m.
Catch the yuletide spirit with the annual Town of Boone Holiday parade! Bring the whole family and find a spot along King Street, as floats, cars, marchers, and performers will light up downtown Boone decked out in their festive best. Enjoy free hot chocolate and treats on the Jones House lawn immediately prior to and during the parade. Hang around until the end to catch a glimpse of the man in red himself - Santa Claus!
ROAD CLOSURES:
-Affected streets will close promptly at 6 p.m.
-King Street will be closed between Poplar Grove Connector and Hardin Street/Blowing Rock Road.
-Side streets will be blocked off along the parade route - including Green St, Straight St, Water St, Burrell St, Linney St, Depot St, Grand Blvd, Appalachian St, College St, Cherry Dr, and Coffey St.
-The roads will remain closed until parade traffic has safely passed through.
-Vehicle traffic should use Hwy 105 Bypass as an alternate route around downtown Boone.
PARKING:
-Parking will be free after 3 p.m. in downtown metered spaces and lots on parade day.
-Additional public parking is available in ASU public lots - please pay attention to signage.
-The Watauga Social Services and Health Department lots are reserved for parade staging only; no general public parking will be allowed.
-Once the parade has started, any vehicles still parked along King Street in downtown will not be allowed to move until the parade has passed.
-Leading up to and following the parade, drivers should pay extra attention and watch for pedestrians.
